
PHOTOGRAPHY NOW
It’s the Center for Photography at Woodstock’s annual PHOTOGRAPHY
NOW call for entries where winners will be exhibited in CPW’s main gallery
from April 13 - June 16, 2013.
This year CPW has invited Kira Pollack, Director of Photography at TIME Magazine to select the boldest new voices in photography from around the world!
ELIGIBILITY
From traditional to digital, all photographic techniques and approaches
are welcome. Straight photography, fine art, narrative, documentary,
landscape, social issues, still
life, mixed media incorporating photography,
photographic installations, and digital images & collages - all
will be considered! CPW staff
and ADV/Board members are not eligible to apply.
EXHIBITION
Selected artists will have their work exhibited in CPW's gallery from April 13 - June 16, 2013.
AWARDS
In addition to being selected, one photographer from the exhibition will be chosen for the Directors' Purchase Prize in which a print is purchased for CPW's Permanent Print Collection, held at the Samuel Dorsky Museum of Art at SUNY New Paltz.
Each exhibiting photographer will also receive a complimentary online portfolio review on www.eyeist.com

TIMELINE
Results will be announced via email on or before Feburary 13, 2013. Selected
participants will be given instructions on how, when, and what to send for
exhibition. Entries that are not selected for PHOTOGRAPHY NOW will be
returned in Marchl, as long as they are accompanied by a clearly labeled
self addressed, stamped, return envelope.
HOW TO ENTER & WHAT TO SUBMIT
CPW has created a easy
to follow application form with accompanying image script for you to use in submitting
your entry. A
completed application form is required. Click the button at the top of the page to download the form. Entries that do not include the application form will not be
accepted.

As a

Jurying will be conducted via projection of digital images only.
Guidelines for submissions must be
followed as outlined:
CD-ROM ENTRIES -Title each file with your "last name_ image title." We
accept JPEG files at 300 DPI, no larger than 5x7”. Include a separate
printed image list with your submission information detailing titles, date, dimensions, and media. See page 2 of
application form for the image list.
No submissions will be accepted via email. Artist
statements and resumes are encouraged, but not required. If you would like your submission returned to you, you must
include a self-addressed, stamped envelope.
PLEASE NOTE
We are not responsible for unlabeled submission materials. In cases in which you are submitting a CD and
do not want it returned, please be sure to provide your email address so we
may notify you of the results. If a return envelope is not provided, your
materials will be discarded, but an email of notice regarding acceptance
status will be sent. Every precaution is taken to assure the return of your
materials, but CPW is not responsible for loss or damage of any entry materials. |
JUROR
Kira Pollack is the Director of Photography at TIME Magazine. Since Pollack joined TIME in October 2009, the brand's photography has been recognized with many prestigious awards including the World Press Photo of the Year and the VIsa D'Or award as Visa Pour I'Image.
In March 2011, she established TIME's photography site LightBox, which is dedicated to the culture of images and provides a forum for conversation on photography. Previously, Pollack was the deputy photo editor for the New York Times Magazine as well as the associate photo editor at The New Yorker from 2004-2008. In October 2011, she was named the photo editor of the year at the Lucie Awards.
