The CPW Internship Program offers participants the opportunity to gain hands-on, behind the scenes experience at a dynamic, community-based non-profit arts organization. As an intern, you will also build connections in the arts community, and play a vital role in helping CPW continue to grow.

Interns work directly with CPW staff in a desired area of focus, both on-site and remotely. Our internships are ideal for students, recent graduates, and any person who is passionate about the arts, community, and social justice.
Internship positions are currently unpaid. We encourage applicants to apply for college credit when applicable. CPW staff are available to work with students to apply for internship awards and scholarships through their schools.

During your time as an intern, you will have access to CPW facilities, which include our library, workspaces, and Digital Media Lab. Using these spaces is highly encouraged to nourish your individual creativity and projects. We also encourage interns to attend our weekly artist talks, exhibitions openings, and other events: these are great opportunities to gain experience!

CPW is currently accepting applications for the following internships:
• Communications Intern
The CPW Communications team is seeking an intern to work 15 hours per week helping to write, manage, and produce content for its social media, newsletter, Bloomberg Connects, and press outreach. The ideal candidate is enthusiastic about the power of photography and possesses strong writing skills. The 15-hour per week schedule can be spread out however the candidate and CPW decide as long as it’s within a standard work week, Monday-Friday, 9:30-5:30PM. Possible video editing may be needed, but is not a requirement. Prior experience is not needed, but the candidate must be diligent, 100% reliable to show up when expected, and take initiative each week with an evolving list of tasks. The intern will work closely with CPW Communications Coordinator Anna Van Lenten.
• Development Intern
The CPW Development team is seeking an intern to support its fundraising operations and special projects. The Development Office plays an essential role in ensuring sound financial capacity for the organization and its many programs. Interns will work with a small team focused on growing memberships and individual giving, seeking program support through grants and outreach, managing events and special projects and cultivating new audiences and supporters. Special projects include CPW’s 50th Anniversary project assistance and for those interested in business development, economic modeling for growing various contributed income initiatives. Development Interns will work with Liz Ruffa, CPW’s Director of Development.
• Education Intern
The Education team is seeking a passionate intern to assist in its range of educational and community-based programming. Interns will help facilitate the “Meet the Artist” series, monthly Photo Club gatherings, and various education related projects. Interns will also play a huge role in preparing for and assisting upcoming workshops, classes, and special events such as the CPW Photobook & Zine Fair.
