CPW is a mission-driven photography and visual arts center, launched in 1977 in Woodstock, NY, and recently relocated to a 40,000 square-foot former cigar factory in Kingston, NY’s Midtown Arts District.
As its footprint has grown, CPW has expanded its creative and technical assistance to photographers and artists as it mounts multiple art exhibitions each year, and convenes high-quality, low-cost skill-building workshops and artist talks. Our aim is to offer a robust visual arts hub for the Hudson River Valley and beyond. This takes thought leadership, hard work, and support from like-minded community members, patrons, philanthropists, and businesses.

WAYS TO SUPPORT CPW:
1. Join CPW! At CPW, membership matters—it creates a vital network of support for our programs. Our various levels—Community, Classic, and Digital Media Lab—aim to engage members in the various programs that CPW offers. Become a member of CPW at the level that works best for you today and refer a friend!
2. Build CPW’s Annual Fund: General operating support is an essential element in CPW’s strategy to operate a sustainable organization. Individual, tax-deductible gifts help to keep our programs robust and accessible for all. Consider a recurring donation and/or explore whether your employer has a corporate match program.
3. Sponsor a CPW program! CPW welcomes individuals and businesses alike to fund events, such as our “Meet the Artist” talk series, or a scholarship, which allows anyone interested in a class or workshop to take it. Event sponsors and scholarship support are both excellent ways you can make a difference for lens-based artists and enthusiasts.
4. Attend CPW’s Vision Awards Gala! Our annual benefit awards dinner is not only a much-anticipated, festive annual event, it celebrates leading luminaries in the photography world whose excellence in the field merits recognition.
