Meet the Artist
Roger Richardson and Clint Woodside
January 26, 2023
5:30 – 7:30 pm
474 Broadway, Kingston, NY

On Thursday, January 26, our Meet the Artist series welcomes Roger Richardson and Clint Woodside. Richardson will discuss his new work, published in a newly released book with Deadbeat Club. Clint Woodside, Deadbeat Club’s founder and publisher, will be in attendance and participating in a Q&A session following Richardson’s presentation. Books will be available for purchase and signing. These talks will be live-streamed on CPW’s Facebook page.

Join us Thursday evenings at CPW, when we host illuminating talks with local and visiting artists. Meet the Artist allows the public to get to know new work, explore artists’ processes, and meet other local artists. Coffee and tea will be provided. Meet the Artist will take place at CPW’s gallery at 474 Broadway in Kingston, NY, and is free and open to the public.

Roger Richardson is a photographer based in the Hudson Valley, NY. He attended SUNY Purchase where he earned his BFA in Photography. Working in a photographic documentary style, Richardson is interested in telling stories of the human condition; whether it be through emotionally charged photographs or through the images of others. His work derives from a deep desire for human connection, empathy, and compassion. By using photography to document his experience, his hopes are to create honest and impassioned images of the world around him.

Clint Woodside is a Los Angeles-based artist, curator, and independent publisher from Buffalo, NY. Widely exhibited, he has shown work in several major cities – New York City, London, Tokyo, Sweden, Shanghai, Seoul, and Melbourne, among others. In 2011 Woodside founded Deadbeat Club to produce limited edition publications with a diverse roster of photographers, including Ed & Deanna Templeton, Cheryl Dunn, Tim Carpenter, and most recently Todd Hido, Roger Richardson, Ian Bates, and Vanessa Winship. Today, Deadbeat Club remains an independent publisher of high-end photography books.

Meet the Artist is actively taking proposals. Please mail education@cpw.org with inquiries and for additional information. This program is made possible by a generous grant from the Arnold and Augusta Newman Foundation.
