Join cyanotype artist PRAISE FULLER for a two-day immersive workshop, merging digital practices with the historic hands-on photographic process of cyanotype printing. Utilizing the methods of photomontage and collage, students will learn how to transform their ideas onto the canvas and then into digital negatives.
In addition to making large final cyanotype prints, students will leave with the knowledge of how to mix chemistry, coat their own papers, and print their own negatives. Plus, there will be tips and tricks for how to get great results, whether using the sun or UV lights. Students will leave with a deeper understanding of the expansiveness of this medium, and how to access that potential.
WHAT TO BRING: Digital images, small prints, objects, and whatever else you’d like to collage into your canvas! All other materials will be provided. Final prints will be 17×22 inches.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR:
PRAISE FULLER is an interdisciplinary artist, educator, and community organizer. In her work as a visual artist, she primarily works with the photographic printmaking method “cyanotype” and practices zine-making as a form of meditation. Through her practice, she experiments with the visual as a tool for political education, meditating on ideas of home, deconstructing ideologies, building and dreaming of new worlds, and translating personal reflections. Fuller is based in NYC.
