The Center for Photography at Woodstock launches a new program, The Professional Practices Artist Network (PPAN)

(Woodstock, NY, August 20, 2020) – The Center for Photography at Woodstock is pleased to announce a new program, the Professional Practices Artist Network (PPAN), launching September 3, 2020.

The Professional Practices Artist Network (PPAN) was created to help demystify the art of promotion, outreach and professional practices, so that artists can become active agents in their own success.

Photographers will gain confidence as they learn the business side of art, expand networks, and practice the skills necessary to land more assignments and opportunities while making lasting connections with peers. PPAN provides artists with the skills, support structure and understanding of the industry to greatly accelerate their careers. Participating artists will gain access to a private group of peers — encouraging resource-sharing, discussions, and community growth.

PPAN will launch with three webinars and networking opportunities. This year’s presenters include Doug Menuez, Jacquette Timmons and Miriam Romais, who will address how to overcome creative, financial and promotional challenges and develop professional practices that will nurture the artist’s career for years to come. Tickets for the webinars are available for individual sessions or as a bundle for all three. Discounts are available to current CPW members. Ticket prices start at $25/session. For more information on the 2020 sessions and to purchase a ticket, please visit: www.cpw.org/calendar

In 2021, the program will shift to a year-long commitment and cohort; details on presenters and topics will be announced later this year.

This program was made possible by a 2020 project grant from the Philip and Edith Leonian Foundation. Additional funding was provided by The Joy of Giving Something Foundation and the New York State Council on the Arts.
