Create your own Cyanotypes

Join CPW for a morning of cyanotype making. Learn the magical powers of the sun as it transforms your objects into images. Participants will leave with their own cyanotype photograms. All materials will be provided. All ages are welcome. This activity will take place rain or shine.
About the Instructor
Viktorsha Uliyanova is a New York-based artist whose works investigate loss, cultural identity, and trauma narrated through the prism of memory. Uliyanova’s practice is informed by her upbringing in the Soviet Union, political repression, and the immigrant experience. Through working with analog photography, cloth, alternative processes, and multimedia installations, Uliyanova builds and registers unrecorded traumatic memories that exist outside of historical archives into physical spaces and forms, making them visible.
Uliyanova received her BA in English from Hunter College and is currently pursuing an MFA in Photography at the State University of New Paltz. Her work has been supported by a number of grants including Di Palo-Williams grant, Sojourner Truth Fellowship, and Research for Creative Projects grant. Uliyanova has taught many workshops over the years and is currently an Instructor of Record at SUNY New Paltz.
Please join CPW every Saturday in January to explore various photographic techniques featured throughout its IBM Tech City-based exhibition, Parallel Lives. Using the spacious backdrop of over 150 photographic works as inspiration, CPW welcomes art lovers of all ages to join in learning new processes, discovering new work, and spending time with friends and family. All activities are free, but please RSVP. Beverages and light snacks will be provided.
