The CPW Book Press is an in-house digital printing press servicing the local artist community and beyond. The Book Press specializes in zines, small-edition projects, and unique artist books. It is run by artists whose goal is to provide an affordable, hands-on, photography-centered print resource that makes your project distinctive and top quality.
We can accommodate a wide range of projects that meet certain requirements of scale and format. We also offer classes and workshops throughout the year that serve as pathways to printing your projects on the Book Press. As we continue to expand our capacities, we will provide updates here and on our social media platforms.
BOOK PRESS APPOINTMENTS + PRICING
Time on-press is scheduled as a one-on-one consultation service starting at $60/Hour
Consultations are available by appointment on Wednesdays, 9am-5pm.
A consultation is appropriate for:
- referrals for regional designers and bookbinders
- determining if the Book Press is the right fit for your project
- choosing a binding structure
- choosing paper stock and materials
- press preflight, file preparation, and color management
- proof prints
- printing book blocks in small runs to be bound independently
- ready-to-print stapled zines and pamphlets

ABOUT THE PRESS
Our Canon imagePRESS V700 is a color production digital press capable of printing the following specifications:
- a wide variety of media, up to 13×19”
- coated or uncoated paper stocks up to 130 lb. cardstock
- specialty stocks including newsprint, transparencies, and vellum
Canon’s Translucent CV Toner preserves the paper’s surface properties, producing vibrant, vivid color and grayscale images across the sheet for offset-like print quality.
PAPER: CPW does not provide paper, but we can suggest paper stocks for your project and suppliers who can provide them. Ink costs will be invoiced with the one-on-one consultation fee.
BOOKBINDING: Currently, CPW does not provide bookbinding services in-house, but we can recommend local craftspeople for consultation.
