Join us for a champagne reception at ClampArt in New York City that brings together CPW artists and supporters. The event will kick off the 20th Anniversary of CPW’s residency program, Woodstock AIR, and provides an opportunity to celebrate in the City during AIPAD weekend.
CPW’s residency program, Woodstock AIR, was launched in 1999 to support photography-based artists of color, and to expand the dialogue around diversity, race and identity in the context of social justice. 128 artists have participated in the program so far. Every year CPW invites artists and at least one writer/curator/scholar to come to Woodstock for creative time without distraction. Thanks to the Phillip and Edith Leonian Foundation, CPW is able to add a ninth residency to this year’s schedule. The 2019 artists-in-residence include Maha Alasaker, Lola Flash, Kei Ito, Ervin Johnson, Vikesh Kapoor, Dionne Lee, Rachel Liu, Susana Raab and Fayemi Shakur.
Join us to celebrate and to toast this fabulous program that many artists describe as life and career-altering.
