STATE OF AFFAIRS II: PRIDE Panel Discussion
Saturday, June 27 at 1:00 pm EST – Join us via Zoom!
The Center for Photography at Woodstock, alongside Ruben Natal-San Miguel, fine art photographer and curator of CPW’s Spring Affair exhibition fundraiser, is pleased to announce STATE OF AFFAIRS II: PRIDE, a panel discussion centered on the artists in Spring Affair and the fight for social justice for the LGBTQ community.
Moderator Ruben Natal-San Miguel describes, “NY State and NYC Pride takes place during the entire month of June. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic crisis, all the pubic events and celebrations had moved virtually online. After The Supreme Court landmark most recent decision that says federal law protects LGBTQ workers from discrimination, we wanted to address it with photographers which are part of the LBGTQ and Binary community and ones who had collaborated with them . Also, how The CoVID -19 has affected their professional careers, current challenges, plans and perspectives for the future. How, gender, race, lifestyle preference thematic imagery and how challenging can be to place and disseminate alternative lifestyle photography in the fine art marketplace.”
The online event will be held Saturday, June 27 at 1:00 pm EST. Ruben Natal-San Miguel will moderate the panel discussion. Participants include photographers Eric McNatt, Matthew Finley, and Jennifer Loeber, and CPW Director Hannah Frieser.
Photography can serve as a powerful catalyst for change. Activism and consciousness can be developed with the creation and dissemination of photographs. Join us as we discuss how photographs and photographers can and have been active elements of transformative change. And share the pride!
STATE OF AFFAIRS II will be held virtually though Zoom. To attend, participants will need to signup beforehand with spots being limited to 100 participants. Spots will be given out on a first come first serve basis. Registration is free. PRE-REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED!
